Plum Green Tea Toner- Worth the Purchase?

Hi Guys,

I am back with yet another product review. I have been using Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner for over a month now. So, I thought of reviewing this product for you guys.

But before I give my review, this time I wanted to highlight some information about the brand as well to give you some sort of idea about their products.

Founded in 2016, Plum is India’s first 100% vegan brand, its free of parabens, SLS, Propylene Glycol, DEA, Phthalates, PABA, and cruelty. They give 1% of their total sales to environmental non-profits, promote healthy skin rather than white skin, very transparent in disclosing ingredients, and follow international labeling (making it easier for the consumers to understand the product).

One more thing, the brand has an initiative called ‘Empties4Good’ where you send them your empty bottles and they will reward you with Rs. 50 as your shopping credits which I believe is a nice initiative towards the environment. And I sooo wish more brands can involve themselves in such initiatives.

Sounds like a good brand? Let’s find out..

First Impression

  • Packaging

Starting with the packaging, the brand has done a decent job. It comes in a plastic-like opaque bottle with a press top cap and ingredients are listed on the bottle itself. Because of the sturdy packaging taking out products is not a big hassle, so plus point here. But I wish the packaging was a little less bulky so that it was easy to travel along with it.

BTW the bottles are 100% recyclable! So, Yayyy!!

Getting into product photography. LOL!
Price: Rs. 390; Click to buy
This is how cap looks like!
  • Texture and Application

Well, the product has a watery texture or say has a consistency like water. It’s transparent and runny. It also has some sort of sweet fragrance. Definitely not of green tea! But I love it anyway as it is very very mild and vanish after application.

Texture: I hope its visible to you guys!

Now, when I first applied the product, I loved the feel of it. It was absorbed in the skin within a minute, leaving no residue behind. My skin felt instantly plump and hydrated and it dried matte and had no oily feel to it. That’s why my oily skin felt sooo good and happy after the application. Another plus point, it does not sting, unlike other toners.

Now let’s, talk about the overall pros and cons of the product, I realized after using it for a month:

Pros

  • Price-friendly

  • Glycolic- acid which is very good for the skin

  • Vegan, cruelty-free, no parabens or SLS

  • Alcohol-free

  • Quickly get absorbed in the skin

  • Does not dry out the oily skin

  • Makes skin look hydrated and plump

  • Does not sting

  • Helps in drying out the acne fast

Cons

  • It says glycolic acid in the ingredients and I hate the fact that they don’t disclose the percentage. Glycolic acid is amongst the actives and cannot be applied daily. Even though I feel that the percentage is quite low, I would have been happier if they could just reveal the percentage.

  • It did not give me any breakouts BUT I have read some comments that it gave breakouts to people with sensitive skin. So if you have sensitive skin, do give it a try before finally purchasing it.

  • People with sensitive skin may not like the fragrance as well

  • Not suitable for all skin types

Last one to show you the ingredients and what else they are offering!

Will I repurchase the product?

No. Even though the product did a decent job for my skin, I did not feel like sticking to it. It was worth the try.  And if you are someone with oily skin and looking for affordable and effective toner, plum green tea toner can be given a try. For now, I will move on to try other toners once I finish this.

That’s it for today, I hope you guys like the review. Until next time. Byeee!

Love Love,

Sakshi
