Our skin type plays a major role when it comes to the effectiveness of the makeup or skincare products. one product did a miracle for your friend but for you, it was a complete failure. And I cannot put more emphasis on how choosing the wrong product can destroy your skin temporarily or in some cases, it's forever. That is why you need to identify your skin type and choose your products accordingly.
Skin Types
Mainly there are 3 skin types:
1. Dry Skin
2. Combination Skin
3. Oily Skin
How to Identify?
Well, various tests can tell you about your skin type but today I will share the simplest one so you could do that at home. This test is called a Bare-Faced Method and you do not need anything but a face wash to conduct this test.
Step 1: Wash your face with a mild cleanser (Facewash) and pat it dry.
Step 2: Leave your face for 30 minutes. Do not apply any product after washing your face.
Step 3: Examine the shine on your forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin.
Match your results here:
1. If you have no shine around the above-mentioned areas and your skin feels parched or tight while you make any facial expressions then you are likely to have a dry skin type.
2. In case you notice little shine on your T zone i.e. your forehead or nose, then you are likely to have combination skin.
3. Although if you see a shine on your T zone and cheeks as well, then you have oily skin.
Apart from this, I would like to give a special mention to Sensitive Skin type as well. Sensitivity is not mutually exclusive to the above skin types. This means you may have one of the above skin types and your skin may still be very sensitive.
Now that you could identify your skin type, go, perform the test, and start buying products as per your skin type. I am sure you will experience the change.
Until next time, stay safe, stay home :).
