I wanted to talk about Banjara Market for so loooong!
But things were happening and I could not get enough time to release it.
And Todayy...
Finaaaally...
We are going to talk about this Market and the new trends it has to offer!
Yes!! Yes!! You heard it right!!
So, without further delay, let's get into the blog!
What and where is Banajara Market?
Now, for those who don’t know, Banjara market is a one-stop location to shop antiques, wooden furniture, ceramic pottery, vintage mirrors, carpets, and basically everything related to home décor at unbelievable prices. The market is located at Sector-56, Gurugram and you can reach there by cab or by sharing local auto\ rickshaw.
Calling it Sarojini for Home Décor will not be wrong! Although, the shops are not well built like Sarojini rather they are mere huts storing everything nice. It is managed by the migrated people of Chittoor and their settlement in the city is over 15 years old now.
These random coasters on the top left were just Rs.10 each (after bargaining)
The Price Range?
Well, you can find the storage pieces or small pots for as low as Rs. 50. If your day is good, you can find the pieces for Rs. 20 as well and the prices may go up to Rs.7-10k (Super Max after negotiation). But honestly, prices after the pandemic have become really unpredictable. You just have to trust your bargaining skills!

All the items in the above picture were under Rs. 100. Bowl costed as low as Rs. 40
Now you must be thinking how come everything so Cheap? What is the Catch?
Well, the catch is that the items are not made locally rather they are reclaimed and restored. So, before buying anything, please double-check for the defects. You can also ask the shop owners to fix the defect, they will do it without any extra charge. They also polish the products and can do customizations as well (sometimes).

Honestly, I don't know the price of above furniture. I clicked these pictures to give you an idea about the market. But the table on Top Right was of Rs. 4500 (without the bargain). Haha!
Tips You Need to Visit Banajara Market
Visit the market during the weekdays rather than on weekends because- Crowd is less and the shop owners are in a mood to bargain more.
Quote half or slightly less than half for everything you pick. They do negotiate to the lowest.
The market is L Shape. So, the shops that are located in interiors are cheaper as compared to the shops located in front. So, go deep!
Wear walking shoes because the market is dusty and you will need to walk a lot.
In case, you will be there for long and it’s a sunny day then carry your water bottles because you can’t find it there easily.
Since Diwali is here, you might wanna visit the place to shop for some home décor but please be careful the place could be crowded, and trust me this is not the time to get infected! You might not wanna miss the festivities! So, take precautions and be safe!!
Until next time!
XOXO,
Sakshi
